Lhasa-Gyantse-Xigaze
|
|
|
|
D1: Arriving at Lhasa Gongar Airport from Kathamandu or Chengdu, met and transferred to Lhasa city, you will visit the Stone Giant Buddha. Check in the hotel (3 stars), taking rest in the afternoon for high altitude. At about 16:00, drive to visit Tibet Museum to get a bird eye-view at Tibet Cultural and history.
D2: Getting up at about 8:00 am, after using breakfast, drive to visit the wonder of the world-Potala Palace. Finish sightseeing at about 12:30, after having lunch outside drive back to the hotel to take a rest. About 15:00, drive to visit Jokhang Temple-the most famous and oldest building in Lhasa, then visit Barkhor Street, the business center of Lhasa. The whole day visiting will finish at about 18:00, taking dinner and having rest afterwhile.
D3: Getting up at about 8:00am, drive to Trupeng Hill to visit Trupeng Monastery which is one of four great Gelugpa monasteries in Tibet. After sightseeing about 12:30, drive back to Lhasa and take rest afterwhile. Drive to visit Norbu Lingka - the Summer Palace for Dailai Lama.
D4: Drive 110km to Yamdrok Lake-one of the three holy lakes in Tibet, enjoy the breathtaking natural scenery! Visit Sangding Monastery which is close to the lake, this is a unique monastery which has female ling Buddha. Also Tibetan family visiting will be arranged along the way, overnight in Nangaze Guesthouse which is near the lake.
D5: Getting up early in the morning to enjoy the beautiful lake in dawn. Then drive to Gyantse-the hero city in Tibet. Visit Kumbuk Monastery and Zhongshan Relics Gyantse. Drive to Xigaze-the second city in Tibet in the afternoon.
D6: Visit Tashilunpo Monastery -- the oldest and largest Gelupa monastery in Tibet, the seat of Banchen Lama. After sightseeing, driving back to Lhasa city along the Lhasa River. The farewell dinner will be arranged at the Typical Tibetan restaurant to enjoy the local food with Tibetan dance and song show.
D7: Transferred to the airport and fly out.

| This triangle travel route is the most popular travel program in Tibet. Potala Palace, this world famous architecture, seat for Dailai Lama, the power centre of Tibet! Jokhang Temple, one of the oldest building in Tibet, it is linked to the beautiful love story between Tibetan king-Songzangganbo and Chinese Princess-Wencheng. Gyantse, this small Tibetan town, remains the original feature is the favorite town of many foreigners.
Xigaze, the second largest city. Tashilunpo Monastery, the seat of Panchen Lama, this beautifully stunning monastery will impress you greatly!
The mild and pleasant climate in central Tibet makes this area available for tourists year around. This route offers the epitome of Tibet with some of the most impressive visions: snow-capped mountains and holy lakes, splendid monasteries and palaces, original villages and unsophisticated people. With the better road conditions and accommodations along the way, it is now the most popular route.
Gyantse, 254km south-west of Lhasa, is famed for the Kumbum ¨C the largest stupa in Tibet. While many travelers also like this small town for its original Tibetan style.
Shigatse, the second largest city in Tibet, is another political, economic and religious center other than Lhasa. Shigatse has been the seat of the Panchen Lama, who is traditionally based in Tashilhunpo Monastery. Tashilhunpo is one of Tibet's highlights and is Shigatse¡¯s foremost attraction.
Dogs are very common in Tibet. While in Gyantse and Shigatse, they're even more rampant. But they're more peaceful than you think, just leave them alone.
