Xi'ning-Lhasa section of Qinghai-Tibet Railway runs for 1,956 kilometers. Within this section, 814 kilometers from Xi'ning to Golmud had run through in 1979 and put into operation in 1984. Starting north from Golmud, via Na Chi Tai, Wu Dao Liang, Tuo Tuo River, Yan Shi Ping and Tangula Mountain in Qinghai and Amdo, Nagqu, Damxung, Yangbajain and Nachi in Tibet, the Golmud-Lhasa section of Qinghai-Tibet railway finally ends in Lhasa, the holy capital city of Tibet Autonomous Region.
