Base Camp--special sight at foot of Mt. Everest

The base camp of Mt. Everest is divided into 2 camps; one is for mountaineering, which lies in a long and narrow lap at foot of Mt. Everest towards north, 5,200 meters above sea level. Free entering is forbidden in this camp for the environmental protection. When talked about the Chinese base camp, according to the mountaineering advisor Gu Liang, old tents were instead by professional tents for mountaineering and equipped with camp beds to improve the sleep condition for mountaineers.

Manager Liu Feng said, it's the best camp than ever before. Food is better than what we've imaged, meat, egg, milk, vegetable and fruits are the general provision, water is carried submontanely to ensure drinking quality.

Except camp for mountaineering, the other base camp is mainly for living even entertainment which can be called tourists base camp. Restaurants, hotels, post office are all in tents, even karaoke. Besides that, there is a carry team with over 100 yaks. Now, this base camp has become a special tour sigh by operators and tourists.

Besides the camps of mountaineering expedition, measurement team and scientific investigation team, many foreign tent camps for mountaineering settled in the base camp of Mt. Everest. According to the statistic, over 500 people in 20 teams have been settled here at most.
