The world's largest uninhabitable area Ke Ke Xi Li might open as an ecological tourist site in the near future. Local management bureau has applied for permission to the State Forestry Administration and the initial programming work is under way.
When completed, it will become the world's largest ecological tourist region. Before touring in the site, however, travelers are required to pass a physical examination, said Liu Zhong, director of the Tibetan Ke Ke Xi Li Protection Zone Management Bureau. It might be the only tourist destination in the world to make such a requirement.
As the world's largest uninhabitable region, Ke Ke Xi Li was also called "zone of death" due to its harsh environment. Tourists should have a strong physical condition and rich experiences of living in open fields. They should also love nature.
Also, tourists might not be allowed to hike in the area by themselves. Instead, they might tour in the area in vans provided by the local management bureau, Liu added.
